Multi-State Inspections by Full-Time RVers
Family Owned and Operated U.S. RV Inspection Company
You Deserve a High-Quality RV Inspection
Our family business is run by a father (Steve “Pierre” Yautz) and his two sons (Steven Yautz and Asher Yautz). After two years of living the full-time RV lifestyle, we decided to help our fellow RVers by inspecting new and used RVs. Our team’s goal is to ensure you’re better informed about what you’re buying, so that your RV can spend more time on the road and less time in the shop.
Our credentials include:
- NRVIA Level 1 RV Inspector Certification
- NRVIA Level 2 (Advanced) RV Inspector Certification
- We follow the NRVIA’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

Meet Your RV Inspectors:
Steve “Pierre” Yautz (Owner/Inspector)
Developing Atlas RV Inspections was inspired by my full-time RV life, which started in 2018 with a used (2001) 27-foot Airstream trailer and a (2015) diesel SUV tow vehicle. I have twice traversed the USA from east-to-west and spent the entire summer of 2019 in Alaska with my two companions, a German Shepard named Oliver and an orange cat named Larry Simon Huckleberry.
It became apparent after meeting numerous RV owners on the road that an RV inspection was as valuable as a residential home inspection or an auto inspection performed by your mechanic. After all, none of us want adverse surprises such as being stranded with our RV, nor do we want to waste our valuable time and money on repairs. Instead, we buy an RV with thoughts of freedom and adventure.
I found that too many owners experienced the same common problems that showed up sooner or later with both used and new RV purchases. I have 30 years of law enforcement experience investigating mostly white-collar crimes, and I view the RV inspection process as an investigation to uncover the facts and details of the recreational vehicle.
Whether you are just entering the RV lifestyle or are already a weekender, seasoned veteran, or a full-timer, finding the right RV is a challenge that requires careful consideration. Ideally, you’ll locate an RV without operational issues that also fits your needs and price range. The best way to know for certain is by scheduling a professional RV inspection.
At Atlas RV Inspections, we want to help you make an informed decision about your most important recreation vehicle acquisition. In my opinion, when making any purchase, we all want to at least start out with a level of confidence in what we are buying. Let our inspection assist in your purchase decision and price negotiation, so you keep your mind focused on the next family adventure and creating special memories that will last a lifetime.
Meet Your RV Inspectors:
Steven L. Yautz (Lead Inspector)
I’m an NRVIA Certified Level 2 Inspector who works with leisure and adventure seekers to help them make an informed decision when buying a new or used recreational vehicle of any size, year, and purpose. Whether you are looking to purchase a travel trailer for a weekend getaway or want to live full time on the road in a Class A Motorhome, I will happily assist you in making the best decision based on a meticulously thorough and highly detailed inspection report.
I believe that having as much information as possible is priceless when it comes to making a truly informed buying decision. Everybody’s needs and wants are different when it comes to the perfect RV. However, the last thing anyone wants to do is buy a money pit, which causes them to fork over cash for constant repairs instead of putting money in the gas tank to explore the country.
My previous business experience includes working in the bicycle industry as a mechanic, along with attending training courses and professional bicycle repair certification through the United Bicycle Institute in Portland, OR. My attention to detail and ability to assist people in customizing components, or in upgrading to a new bicycle based on their specific needs, has allowed me to transition my knowledge into helping you narrow down the many RV options available. I also possess the necessary technical skills to diagnose potential problems that should be remedied before a new owner takes possession.
California has experienced devastating wildfires in recent years, leaving many people to live in an RV while they rebuild. I am passionate about helping people sort through the process of finding the perfect RV for their specific situation and needs, including those who are looking for a temporary emergency housing solution.
Since 2015, I’ve been living full time in my RV, heeding the call of the open road and deep forest excursions. My travels have found me living the van life on Hawaiian beaches, swimming with sea turtles, surviving narrow encounters with alligators in Texas, and being assaulted by moose in the magnificently wild state of Alaska. I currently reside in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area of California.
Meet the Team:
Asher Yautz (Inspector)
Joining Atlas RV Inspections with my father and brother was the next step for me in my new life inside the RV world. After my father sold the house and jumped into his Airstream full-time, I got my first full look at what RVing really means. Spending two weeks with him in Alaska, where we traveled more than 1,500 miles, was the best time of my life with my dad. Spending another two weeks with him in Texas made me forever hooked on RVing.
I must travel frequently for acting jobs, so becoming an RV owner in the near future seems to be the right choice. I’m still deciding what my needs and desires are in an RV, which is something we all must do before we’re truly prepared to select a specific type of RV. Fortunately, I’m young and have my whole life ahead of me to enjoy my own RV.
When my dad took his home on wheels to Alaska, I said to myself, “Hey, I want that!” Certified RV inspection training made me realize this is an entirely new world, of which I want a part. I would never have felt confident enough in making an RV purchase without the knowledge I have now. I’m in this partnership to bring confidence and knowledge to you, so you can be free of concerns and focus on the important things in life, like creating memories.
